Dissatisfaction fuels the growth of extremely lucrative industries across the nation (weight loss, make-up, etc.) Thus, an infatuation with teeth whitening is born because most people lose satisfaction with the brightness of their teeth at one point or another. From over-the-counter toothpaste to veneers, any means of whitening teeth is seen as a simple investment and solution for more beautiful smile.

Some of our patients come in for professional whitening, others prefer to “do-it-yourself" (DIY) regime”. In either eventuality, we strive to keep our patients educated.

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a simple cosmetic dentistry procedure that improves the appearance of your smile by bleaching your teeth. Results vary from person to person depending on method, lifestyle habits, and initial shade.

How does the process of whitening work?

A peroxide-based solution penetrates through your enamel and starts an oxidation process where molecules are transformed to reflect less or no light. The less light reflected, the more translucent a tooth appears. The more translucent, the whiter the tooth appears.
